Playstation 3 Eject Disk
Was part way through playing a battlefield 3 game, then my weapons nor kits started spawning, so I quit the game, after about 2 minutes of unusual wait time for the menu, tried to quit the game, which resulted in the PS3 crashing and restarting itself. After this, wouldn't read the BF3 game disc, nor any other game disc, so I tried ejecting and and then re-inserting it, with no avail, about 30 seconds after the disc being in the drive, no spin sound, and then the eject noise of the CD rang, without the disc ejecting. Anyone have any possible ideas to why this is happening and how I can fix it? BakerAUS wrote: Sorry, to be clear the problem your describing means I cannot eject the disk?
I can insert & eject disks as much as I please, however the PS3 will not read them, and then will try to eject it without actually ejecting the disk. Descargar Pinnacle Studio 12 Gratis Cracked there. I need to manually press the button to eject the disk. Yeah sorry, I misunderstood the 'eject sound' the drive makes. You have to manually eject the disk because PS3 doesn't know there is a disk, this only confirms the laser unit within the Blu-Ray drive has failed. I suspect it could still play DVDs, if you have a two lens model PS3 (if it's the 2007 model, even PS2 games!) If you can install and play PSN digital games then nothing else is wrong with the console. Changing the laser unit will go under warranty if one is still valid.
Otherwise it will cost you 100GBP+ if you have Sony replace it, or cost you 50GBP if you know how to order and replace one by yourself. I think the cost between Sony replacing the laser unit on that console and getting a brand new slim on sale is so small, you might consider getting a new one. I did that choice last christmas. The console electronics will propably fail in 2-3 years, so you need to weigh the cost of extending it's functionality to the reality of it's life cycle. The Blu-Ray drive is dead, plain and simple. I've seen this particular event (drive crunching but not being able to eject disc) happen once. It's a mechanical fault which requires at least re-aligning the gear wheels within the drive or worse yet, replacing the whole unit.
The PlayStation 3 system should now eject the disc. Under no circumstances should you dismantle your PlayStation 3 system to remove a trapped disc. Find out what to do if a disc becomes stuck in your PlayStation 3 system. Platform PlayStation 4. How To Install Freegate Software Download. The PlayStation 3 system should now eject the disc.
Apart from that, not reading discs means either the laser diode or the controller board has failed. Once again your safest bet is to presume the whole drive needs replacement. You can get replacement parts for older 'fatty' consoles, I have had no need to work on newer ones so cannot vouch for them.. If you still have warranty I suggest you take it to the shop while you still can, doing any work on the console yourself voids the warranty.
